Hillel Leadership Initiative
Hillel Leadership Initiative

Connect, Collaborate & Create
• The Hillel Leadership Initiative (HLI) internship is designed to enhance Jewish life on campus. We are looking to hire a crew of students who are leaders within diverse facets of CEGEP and university life and who have broad social networks to build relationships with uninvolved Jewish students over the course of a year.
• Each HLI intern is charged with building relationships with 30 uninvolved Jewish students on campus. Serving as a resource to meaningful opportunities or potentially a friend in challenging times, the HLI interns strive to advance Jewish values in the context of their relationships.
• The HLI interns strive to understand fellow students' interests, passions, and aspirations - and connect them to opportunities that they may find meaningful and engaging.
• The HLI interns provide on-going relationship-building and connect students to immersive and meaningful experiences such as Taglit-Birthright Israel and create methods for follow-through upon return to campus.
• HLI interns are given a budget to plan relevant and creative initiatives that enable them to meet uninvolved Jewish students and follow-up with them in an authentic, comfortable, and open way. Initiatives have the dual purpose of attracting uninvolved students and advancing Jewish values.
• HLI interns participate in ongoing leadership training, mentorship and supervision. The skills they build are transferable and will help students through their University experience and beyond. This program will look excellent on a CV.
• HLI interns will receive a stipend each semester and will receive a letter of reference upon their termination from the program.

HLI Application Deadline: April 3rd
The Hillel Leadership Initiative (HLI) program is designed to enhance Jewish life on CEGEP and University campuses throughout Montreal by connecting less engaged students to a wealth of exciting opportunities. Each intern is charged with building relationships with Jewish students on campus while developing programs based on their interests and passions. Interns participate in ongoing leadership training, mentorship, and supervision. The skills they build are transferable and will help them through their University experience and beyond. As there are many interns and each is programming with their own passions in mind, the choices being offered to the Jewish campus community seem endless. As we engage more talented interns, more “out there” programs are becoming mainstream Hillel.
